Welcome to the frozen North!
With the temperature outside sitting at -35ºC (-31ºF), we are not quit ready to venture outside and see if the van will start. The plans today are to visit Charles and Kathy, house-sitting in Skagway, where
it will be a balmy -19ºC(-2ºF)! This morning
the plans are to listen to the radio, read and drink hot chocolate with the woodstove blazing!
Clear skies overnight (but no Northern Lights) meant a drop to -35º, but there are good signs as the thermometer has risen to -34º and a predicted high of -19º !!!
Yesterday we started the day at the community hall for a pancake breakfast. With a full stomach and a warm van, we toured around the local area starting at Jake's Corner, sweeping across the Southern Lakes area to Emerald Lake, Carcross Desert and the frozen hamlet of Carcross. With a brilliant sun and accompanying sundogs, we were able to capture some great photos.

Cold? Who me? Nayh!!!
Next week the temperature on Wednesday will reach -7ºC (19ºF), a time for t-shirts and shorts :)
Thanks to Enora`s big help painting the paneling, the shower room is finished.
The hoses and pump were frozen last night, but after thawing them out, the hot showers were a welcome treat.
Well, the morning is passing fast, the van has started with the remote, the generator has warmed up by the woodstove, so I must get dressed and meet the frigid day :(
